REPAIR CAFE INTERNATIONAL
REPAIR CAFE HASSOCKS
4th Sat of each month (except Aug and Dec), 10.00AM - 1.00PM
The idea of repair cafes was born in Amsterdam in 2007 and swiftly spread across the world. The premise is simple enough: instead of throwing away your rusty kettle, faulty vacuum cleaner or knackered lamp, you take it to a meeting place, where knowledgeable volunteers help you mend the item, understand what’s gone wrong, and even show you how to mend it.
Repair Café Hassocks is where you can bring your broken things - clothes, household items, small appliances, furniture, toys etc. and a team of volunteers will be on hand to help you to mend it. For big repairs which are not possible in a few short hours, we have shared a list of repair professional services below.
We have to operate a booking system at this time due to Covid. In usual times, there would also be the "café" aspect which runs alongside the repairs, where you can have a chat and a tea/coffee. We hope this can be introduced when the measures have been lifted.
