FOOD GROUP

The HKD Food Group is working on several exciting projects:

Supporting the development of local markets in Ditchling and Hurstpierpoint (The Hurstpierpoint market called First in Hurst is due to open in the Village Centre on Saturday April 7), and expanding the Hassocks market to twice a month.

The newly published Really Local Food Directory highlights the range of local food produced and sold within our area. Click on the link above for all the details of where to buy locally.

A Garden Share project, to enable people who have more garden space than they want to development an agreement with others who do not have gardens to grow vegetables and fruit and share the proceeds.

 

* Age Concern Community Orchard. This is a new venture with the Age Concern garden in Hassocks and will involve a new allotment and community orchard.

 

After successful planting of fruit trees (see list below), volunteers are needed to help plant rhubarb and raspberries at Age Concern, Hassocks for the new community orchard. Click here for details.
